Marcell is a seasoned expert in hatchery and nursery recirculating aquaculture system (RAS) designs and operations. He has developed technologies for Southern Bluefin Tuna and Amberjack and has managed industrial production of species such as Barramundi and Yellowtail Kingfish. Known for meticulous attention to detail, Marcell has designed and implemented numerous industrial-scale marine recirculating systems.
Marcell excels in auditing facilities, training personnel, and executing holistic strategies to optimize operations and improve productivity, consistency, and quality output from commercial aquaculture companies.
Marcell is also a leader in developing new diets and products for marine aquaculture. He has expertise in ingredient selection, trade intelligence, manufacturing processes, and the latest technologies and specialized experience in microencapsulation, agglomeration, and larval nutrition. Marcell can optimize processes for higher throughput, quality, and consistency, drawing on experience in establishing greenfield facilities and feed factory setups. He also brings vast knowledge in aquaculture nutrition research and commercial R&D stage gate processes.
Marcell is an expert in marketing strategy and execution, specializing in communication consistency across various platforms and content types, including scientific and technical-commercial messaging. He excels in content marketing, particularly within aquaculture, seafood, aquafeed, nutrition, and sustainability. Marcell holds a BSc. in Fisheries and Aquaculture Engineering from the Federal Rural University of Pernambuco, an MSc. in Global Marketing from the University of Liverpool, and professional MBAs in Finance from Harvard Business School, and in Corporate Governance and Directorship from the Australian Institute of Company Directors. With extensive international experience, he has worked in Latin America, the Middle East, Asia-Pacific, Oceania, and Scandinavia.
