Sean Wilton, PE
Sean's more than 25 years of engineering experience has included the design of the most advanced fish hatchery and recirculating aquaculture production systems in the world. Over 100,000,000 gallons of water are recycled every day in projects designed or built by Sean and his firms over the years.
Sean was previously the President of PRAqua Technologies Ltd. of British Columbia, Canada. PRAqua was formed to design and build aquaculture and water treatment facilities utilizing the best of leading edge and proven technologies.
Sean is actively designing, engineering and proving out floating closed containment technology at commercial scale. This exciting bridge containment technology is employed in two active production farms; one at West Coast Fish Culture in British Columbia, Canada producing over 1,000 MT of Steelhead Trout annually and the other in Benxi, China where over 10 crop cycles have been successfully produced in the system. One of the more exciting applications of these large floating tanks is in their use as protected rearing spaces for post-smolt production. Sean's novel floating closed containment technology, which was pioneered while he worked at AgriMarine Technologies, is actively being deployed in post-smolt production of Salmon in Norway.
Sean has also been retained as an expert review engineer for investment firms conducting due diligence on recirculating aquaculture system (RAS) farm design proposals or farm acquisitions.
Sean earned a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering degree from the Royal Military College of Canada in 1988 and is a member of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of British Colombia.
